Hi! I’m Tara Fontana. Since I was a little girl I have been obsessed with weddings. I grew up in the salon with my mom being a hairdresser. I actually had my first bride when I was 8 years old. I remember it well. From then on all my Barbies had braids and different hair dos and there was always one getting married. Out of high school, I went directly to cosmetology school. My first hairdressing job landed me on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills at Jose Eber. Not a bad place to start. I moved around a bit until I found a salon that I was happy with. I worked in Malibu, where I had a good high end clientele. But I lived for the weddings and prom day. So there comes Fairytale. I made a website, got a booth at a bridal show. The response was overwhelming. So I decided I needed to find other artists with the same passion and talent to work with. We started in Southern California. Then I went to Vegas and hired a crew. Then came Northern California. Being a Disney fanatic, I have always wanted to work with Disney. I have always dreamed of my own Disney Wedding. It was a dream come true when Disney Fairy Tale Weddings gave me a chance.
In 2006, I gave birth to a baby girl. Catalina is my Fairytale Princess. Soon after her birth, I decided to leave the salon world to be a stay at home mom and just focus on my passion, my company. I still maintain a handful of clients in Malibu to this day. What could I do to bring Fairytale to the next level? Thats when I went at hired a crew in Central Florida and met with Disney Fairytale Weddings at Disney World. This was about the same time that we got the chance to work on “My Fair Wedding” With David Tutera. What an honor to have the praise from someone like David Tutera.
There is no better job in the world. I am truly blessed to have the talent and opportunities I have been given. I am so proud to have been able to help other artists grow and pursue their passion as well. To be apart of the biggest day of my clients life is truly an honor. I just wanted to let anyone know how pleased I was with Tara at Fairytalehair/mobile. She arrived at our venue (Disneyland) prompt and ready to work, my makeup and hair was gorgeous and well suited my wedding. Fabulous hair and make up! Tara of Fairytale was absolutely wonderful. She did an awesome job on my hair, as well as my bridesmaids. We had a lot of fun with her and he was a great person to get to know. Would definately recommed her to everyone. She was fast and a great joy to work with with.

My wedding was pretty small and she traveled from Ventura to the venue in LA ( ON A FRIDAY AT 4:00 pm) to do only my hair & make up because i didn’t have bridesmaids so that shows what kind of person she is. I loved the hair and make up, she did what i was expecting and more.
Reliable and great work! I had Tara and her team come to my parents house where I and my 4 bridesmaids were getting ready. I had arranged a timeline for each bridesmaid as well as my mom for hair and makeup. Tara and her crew were all there on time and did a wonderful job. All my girls looked great! I also did the airbrush makeup that lasted all day, just had some oil sheets with me and that was all I needed. Her prices are VERY reasonable and she even came out to do a trial on my hair and makeup. She was very professional as well as very personable. I would highly recommend Fairytale Hair and Makeup!
Like a true Fairytale. I absolutely loved working with tara. She is very talented, friendly and really down to earth. She arrived early the morning of my wedding day to start on the bridal party and she made everyone look so beautiful. I am still amazed at how awesome she made my hair look as well. I have super fine hair and she made it look like I had a full head of lucios hair. The make-up was absolutely flawless as well. I highly recommend Tara and her team for both small and large bridal parties. It is such a relief to know you have one less thing to worry about on your big day with someone like her on your side.
Everything was perfect
My hair and makeup looked amazing and stayed perfect all day. Tara came to my house to do the trial. She came to the hotel at 3:30 am to begin hair and makeup for my early Disneyland wedding. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Wonderful Stylist and Person
I had Tara do my wedding at Disneyland. Coming from Canada, I really wanted someone to come to my hotel to do my hair and makeup for the big day. Tara came to my hotel for both the trial and the wedding. I was so stress free, and really trusted her decisions. I was so happy with my hair, I have very thick, frizzy hair and Tara made sure it was smooth loose curls just like I wanted. I absolutely love how my look turned out, and my pictures look amazing because of her. Tara is also a very kind, caring person who really listens to what her clients want. She made everyone in my wedding party look fabulous. Would recommend her to anyone.
I Highly Recommend Fairytale
I chose to use Tara from Fairytale Hair and Makeup for my hair and makeup on my wedding day based on a recommendation from a friend, and I was very happy with my choice. Tara was prompt, prepared, and could recreate just about any style. I completed a trial run with her a few months before my wedding, and would definitely recommend that other brides do this as well so that you can visualize what your hair and makeup will look like on the big day. My bridesmaids brought magazine cutouts of what they wanted for their hair, and she was able to replicate the styles for each of the girls whether it was a simple or complicated up-do. I would recommend Tara to other brides in the future.
The Royal Treatment
Taras amazing. I knew she was going to be perfect because when I went for my trial she had Disney stuff all over her studio!!! She listened to exactly how I wanted my hair and makeup and then made it more amazing than I could have ever imagined. And I know that all my bridesmaids felt the exact same way. She arrived on time, got the job done, and was professional yet fun. It made the day that much more special.
Fairytale Hair & Make-up was AMAZING!
My wedding was on June 28 of this year at the Disneyland Resort. I would recommend Fairytale Hair & Make-up to any bride who wants to feel like a princess. Tara was especially AMAZING. My ceremony was at 9:30 in the morning and since I wanted to take pictures with my groom before the ceremony, Tara had to start my hair/make-up at 5:00 A.M.!!!! She therefore traveled from Ventura to Anaheim during the wee hours of the morning just for me. Although it was EXTREMELY early, she was still so excited to be a part of my special day and did not complain once about it being too early. Tara’s “bubbly” personality helped me to relax and made me feel at ease while I was getting ready. When she finished my hair and make-up, I couldn’t have been happier with her work. It was exactly what I wanted! When we were putting on my dress, we had a little bit of an issue getting it over my head, so Tara stayed a little longer to make sure my hair didn’t get wrecked and was still perfect for the wedding. She really went the extra mile. I am extremely grateful for Tara’s talents, and she really did turn me into a princess for my wedding day. After my wedding, I told Tara that she was just like my fairy godmother getting me ready for the “ball.” : )
Great hair & makeup for my Winery Wedding
Tara with fairytale makeup and her team did makeup for myself and hair for me, my bridal party and the moms. Tara traveled all the way from Ventura to Solvang to do our makeup and hair in our hotel room, it was a very relaxing way to start the day. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t change a thing! I had a few girls who changed their minds about how they wanted their hair done and Tara worked hard to make sure everyone was happy. I was thrilled with my makeup and may hair looked great the whole night. I would recommend Tara to anyone!

Going through the trial run was a great idea because it gave me confidence before the day of the wedding of exactly what to expect. To put it simply: Tara was amazing!
She was incredibly professional and she did a great job on hair and makeup. She was very receptive to what I wanted (especially with the hair) and the end result was better than I had imagined. I would highly recommend any bride to be to visit the Fairytale website and see what they have to offer. The fact that Tara came to me the morning of the wedding took out a lot of stress from the day – I didn’t have to go anywhere or worry about timing, she made sure we had enough time to get everything done. The whole team at Disney Fairytale Weddings was incredible, they definitely do their research when recommending vendors and Tara did not disappoint!
Tara ROCKS!
I don’t live in Southern CA, so I wasn’t able to have a hair trial before our wedding. I printed lots of pictures of hair and makeup that I liked, and had Tara add extra time into our schedule case we needed to change some aspects of my wedding day look. Tara came to my room at the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, and was WONDERFUL! She is so cheerful and fun to talk to, I was immediately put at ease. We had my hair done in no time, and it was perfect – just like the pictures I brought! My makeup looked great, lasted ALL day, and the false eyelashes were awesome. My mom and sister had their hair done as well, and LOVED it! We ended up going into Disneyland for the evening after our wedding and rode Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, as well as other fast/windy/rough rides… my hair and makeup still looked good late that night! I highly recommend Tara and Fairytale Hair and Makeup. We had a wonderful experience working with Tara!

Her hair and makeup she did for my daughter’s wedding was so professional and beautifully done. She asked for my opinions, I explained what I liked best and she came through with flying colors. My hair looked amazing. I thought “so this is what its like to have your own make up and hair person”. My make up was flawless and beautiful. The bride looked exquisite! Tara came from Ventura to Santa Monica on a Sunday morning, on time and was ready to rock and roll! She had a calming effect on the bridal party and I highly recommend her. Tara really made me feel like the “Mother of the Bride”. A wonderful experience!!

Can work with a curveball
Tara was great! She came by my house to do my trial hair & make-up and made sure that I loved it before she left. On the day of my wedding she showed up @ 6:30 in the morning with reinforcements to take care of my wedding party. Tara was ready to go and I don’t know how so early but in a great mood. She had to deal with one of my bridesmaids that had decided not to get her hair done the night before and washed her hair. Unfortunately that morning she decided to get her hair done and it was super wet. She has thick hair with a super tight curl needless to say it was not pretty. After 4 1/2 hours of prepping her hair Tara was finally able to begin to style it. This left an hour to do my hair, make-up, and get dressed before my ceremony. Tara was able to get my hair & make-up done and help me get dressed. I got to my ceremony 15 mins. late!

Our experience with you and your assistant was amazing! You guys did such a great job, were so professional and totally came through for me despite the last minute booking. I loved how each of my bridesmaids had a different hairstyle that was gorgeous but also totally fit her face and personality. I had a very clear idea of what I wanted for my hair and make-up and I was so surprised that you were able to replicate it so perfectly! I will definitely review you guys when I get a chance and will send over some pictures when I receive them.

Helping to plan a wedding that is not your own is a good gauge to how stressful this experience can be. By the end of the day, my best friend was ready to just collapse under all of the pressure building up from planning this destination wedding.
The ceremony was held at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. At first, we were starting to worry about the reliability of their services since the initial email we sent to enlist their services was met with a generic response about someone getting into contact with us soon. Some time went by and still no reply. Melt down was to ensue up until Tara showed up on the day of the wedding. She was quick and delivered a flawless look for the bride and the two mothers. A warm day out in Disney gave the bride a bright red sunburn which Tara covered with ease.
With instructions as vague as “I don’t want an extravagant prom style hairdo”, she was able to create an elegant and loose curl side sweep that made the princess of the day glow. It was nice to have all the hair and make up done at the resort eliminated the stress of leaving the property for the party. With that out of the way, there was one less thing to create a bridezilla.
Tara and her team were fantastic! A pleasure to work with, I was very happy to have Tara apart of my wedding day!

Tara, the owner of Fairytale Hair and Makeup is amazing! She did my hair and makeup for my engagement shoot and I loved it. My shoot was 4 hours long and the hair lasted the entire time! She was the sweetest person, and made me feel beautiful and special, which certainly boosted my confidence for my e-shoot. I’m an event planner, and will certainly recommend Tara to anyone needing hair and makeup services.

I wasn’t able to make it out to hers for a trial, and she found a way to get to mine even though the drive was crazy far!
She listens to what you want, and if you want anything changed, she’s willing to do anything to make you happy. You never feel pressured not to ask for something. She did some great curls and braiding in my hair, as well as airbrush makeup and it looked awesome! She’s very professional and makes sure that there’s time to spare.
Not only are Tara’s artistic abilities amazing, but her personality just makes everything even better! She makes the day ten times more exciting and is just a doll to be around!
The price you pay is totally worth it and more, other places charge twice as much and I guarantee you won’t get the combination of comfort and professionalism that you get with Tara.
